The Green Army team will be involved in restoring coastal ecosystems at nine sites along the Byron coastline. Activities will include collecting seed and propagating native plants. The team will control weeds helping to restore coastal habitats. Fencing and track maintenance will assist in managing public access to beaches. Activities will reduce erosion of dunes. Planting native trees and shrubs and bush regeneration works will improve the health of coastal ecosystems. This includes improving habitat for threatened plants and animals. The team will undertake training in first aid, workplace health and safety and conservation and land management.
