EnviTE Environment bush regeneration contractors implement revegetation projects across new housing developments along the Coffs Coast. The restoration works are in line with Vegetation Management Plans approved by Coffs Harbour City Council as part of the development application consent process. Revegetation and weed control works include significant areas of Swamp Sclerophyll Forest on Coastal Wetland and koala habitat.
Local native species representing understorey, midstorey and canopy are established. Use of fertiliser, water crystals and soil conditioner contribute to high rates of plant survival and growth. Mulch or weed mats around plants reduce maintenance and assist plant growth by limiting weed competition and retaining soil moisture. Where necessary, guards are used to prevent grazing by wallabies and other animals. These plantings improve habitat and wildlife connectivity by linking to existing forest areas.
