World Heritage Gondwana Rainforest Restoration – Nightcap National Park – Lismore base 2017-08-08T10:13:20+00:00

Project Description

Completed June 2017

Green Army will restore critically endangered Lowland Rainforest of Subtropical Australia and the habitat of threatened species in the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage area at Nightcap National Park. Weeds, particularly Lantana (a Weed of National Significance) and Giant Devils Fig (a serious emerging weed), restrict natural regeneration and growth of native species. Bush regeneration will improve the health and connectivity of vegetation, enhance native flora and fauna habitat and build resilience to climate change. Track maintenance will protect ecosystems from human impacts. Participants will gain skills and experience while restoring an internationally significant ecosystem.
