Six Endangered Ecological Communities in Clarence Estuary Nature Reserve are being restored by Envite Environment bush regenerators working with Yamba Landcare group. Littoral Rainforest, Coastal Saltmarsh, Coastal Cypress Pine Forest, Freshwater Wetlands on Coastal Floodplains, Swamp Oak Floodplain Forest & Swamp Sclerophyll Forest are represented on the project site which is an important remnant of the last 4% of the original vegetation of the Clarence Estuary. Bitou Bush, Lantana, Ground Asparagus, Climbing Asparagus and a range of garden escapees are degrading this high conservation value area. Systematic ecological restoration works are being implemented over 25ha. The Landcare group and local community have opportunities to gain further knowledge and skills through training events and working alongside professional bush regenerators.
