Envite Environment staff are working hard on State Forests land at Wonga Forest (Frenchman’s Creek), south west of Coffs Harbour to reduce & control environmental weed threats & encourage natural regeneration of Koala habitat, the native bush is responding positively with great natural regeneration.
We’ve also been working at Bellingen Shire Council Cemetery Reserve. ‘This site is unusual in that only a small variety of weeds are present, albeit in large numbers: camphor laurel and small-leaved privet are the main culprits to take a hold after the plantation was severely thinned in 1996’, Belligen Courier-Sun reports. Weed control around the cemetery boundary has been the main focus.
This project is being funded by Wires and Landcare Aus. Big thank you also goes to Jaliigirr Biodiversity Alliance, Friends of Wonga Forest, Bellingen Shire Council.
